Teaching candidates in High School English are sometimes required by their licensing states to take the PRAXIS II English Subject Test 0042, also called the PRAXIS II English Language, Literature, and Composition: Essays. If Test 0042 is mandatory for you, be sure to review literary analysis and argumentation before the test date.
Planning to teach high school English? Your licensing state may require you to pass the PRAXIS II English Language, Literature, and Composition: Content Knowledge Exam (0041). The two-hour test consists of 120 multiple-choice questions regarding topics usually studied by English and English education majors in undergraduate school.
